Comment Corner - Newspapers Say

Here's what some of the newspapers are saying about Body Walk:

Appeared in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette on Wednesday, Septmeber 17, 2003. Picture is of some children going to the small intestine, passing under the villi. The caption under the picture reads, "Promotin healthy living. Franklin Elementary School fourth grades, Leteasha Glass (left), 10 and Omega Harris, 9, make their way through the small intestine at the introduction of Body Walk on Tuesday morning in Little Rock. The 30 by 30 intereactive exhibit is designed to teach the importance of nutrition and health and fitness. The traveling exhibit is from the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service and was funded by the Arkansas Department of Health Tobacco Prevention Program and the Office of Oral Health."

Article appeared on the Texarkana, Arkansas paper in November 2003. The Community Speaks Up Section of Cheers and Jeers. The article was a Cheer. Here is what it says, "To the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service for letting Kilpatrick Elementary School be the first school outside of Pulaski County to participate in the Body Walk, an exciting, experimental education activites. Cheers also to the community and parent volunteers who so graciously gave of their time to make this learning experience so much fun. Our students learned about the importance of making healthy food choices and being physically active while they ventured through this colorful 30 by 40 foot exhibit representing the human body., S.W. and B.N., Texarkana, Ark."

Picture that appeared in The Sentinel Record, Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas, Thursday January 22, 2004.  The picture is of a gilr looking into The Pathway of Life. The caption under the picutre reads, "Rene Garduno of Lake Hamilton Elementary School takes a "Body Walk" on Wednesday at the Garland County Fairgrounds. Via the traveling exhibit operated by the University of Arkanas Cooperative Extension Service, area elementary school students had a first-hand look at how to make healthy choices and remain healthy throughout their lives. The "Body Walk" educational display was sponsored by the Garland County 4-H Clubs, the Garland County Extension Service and members of the Garland County Farm Bureau Women's Committee."
